Welcome to Zion Lutheran School.
A Great School. A Christian School.
The academics are challenging.
The teachers are nurturing.
The lessons learned are for a lifetime.
At Zion Lutheran School children in grades Preschool through 8th grade learn, grow, and achieve in an environment enriched with Christian teachings and values. It’s an education devoted to preparing young minds and hearts for the world that awaits.
Academics
With high standards, a strong educational program, and a low student to teacher ratio, students at Zion Lutheran can strive to reach their full potential. Our students consistently do well on standardized tests. Our graduates have succeeded in high school and beyond.
Multi-grade education
Zion Lutheran School makes use of multi-grade classroom groupings in grades 1-8. The multi-grade classroom environment fosters the development of both cooperation and independence. Younger children can actively use older children to develop skills and to acquire knowledge, while older children have opportunities to practice responsibility and see themselves as mentors. Age mixing also provides opportunities for children to find others of matching abilities above and below their grade level.
The multi-grade classroom allows the relationships among the teacher and students to develop, grow, and blossom over the years spent working together. The opportunities for developing and practicing leadership, cooperation, consideration for others, and patience abound in multi-age classrooms. When children are excelling socially in a classroom, the environment has been created for academic achievement as well.
Learning from dedicated teachers in a Christian setting.
The most important goal at Zion Lutheran is to motivate students to live as Christians in all aspects of their lives. In addition to studying God’s Word, each child has the opportunity to develop God-pleasing habits and values.
The staff at Zion Lutheran works diligently to provide for the mental, spiritual and emotional growth of every student. Our teachers seek to work with parents to build the home-school partnership.
Students also have the opportunity to develop skills and Christian sportsmanship as they compete with other schools in sports like basketball, volleyball, soccer, and track. We also offer musical and artistic opportunities, such as hand chimes and junior choir.
