Zion's Ministry & Mission Statement

Zion's Ministry

Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church & School is a congregation of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS).  The Wisconsin Synod, started in 1850 in the state of Wisconsin, currently has congregationa in every state and carries out mission work in many foreign countries.

As a member of this church body, we are...

  • Christ-centered -- we preach Jesus Christ, the crucified and risen Lord, the only Savior for all the people of the world.  Through His perfect life, innocent suffering and death, we have the forgiveness of sin.  The blessings of His forgiveness benefit us through faith graciously worked in our hearts through the Holy Spirit.
  • Bible-believing -- we teach that the Bible in its entirety is the true, inerrant, and inspired Word of God.  We believe the Bible is the only authority for Christian faith and life.  We aim to share God's Word in all its truth and purity.
  • Caring Congregation -- we offer spiritual support, friendship, Christian counsel, Christ-like love and biblical direction.  The people of our congregation care about other people -- and that means you!

Our
Mission Statement

To the glory of our Triune God, we the members of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, following the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:18-20), exist to make disciples through the Means of Grace God has entrusted to us.  To accomplish this purpose we want to:

  •  continue to build one another's faith through regular worship, study and the use of the Word and Sacraments (nurture)
  • equip our members with the knowledge to seek out the lost and carry God's message to them (outreach)
  •   support synodical mission efforts to carry the Gospel into all the world (mission)
  •  provide a variety of opportunities for Christian fellowship and mutual support (fellowship)
